Funding acquired to help re-start Fidra Women's Hockey.

After some work behind the scenes from the clubs committee we secured funding from the North Berwick Trust to help re-start the ladies section of the club again and also get several coaches through their first aid qualifications.

There will be a First Aid course in August to get coaches qualified for the start of the new season this will be run by St Andrews as it has been difficult to find courses since the return of hockey after Covid.

But even better news on the women's hockey side of things. We have started back training on a Tuesday evening at the North Berwick High School astro 8pm - 9pm. The funding will help us to run these sessions to start with.

We have had a great turn out over the first couple of weeks with seventeen players attending the latest session. Fidra President John Connaghan commented it is great to see some many attending the session and they all seem to be having such a great time.

If you have played before great, if not it doesn't matter as everyone is welcome to come along and try playing hockey with us.

Going forward these players will compliment the good work from the junior section of the club with some the U14's moving up age groups and hopefully over the coming months we will get them playing together in games against other clubs.
